Design Storage & Handling, Inc. was started as a partnership between Rob Alling and Hubtex Maschinenbau GmbH on January 1, 1990. Rob comes from a background of lift truck sales with Yale in Connecticut and California that evolved into specialty and very narrow aisle equipment sales with Drexel and Lansing products, eventually becoming a regional and then national manager for the latter. Hubtex cut their teeth in the equipment world manufacturing material handling equipment for the textile industry (“hub” means lift in German; “tex” is short for textile) and was still making the transition from reliance on this industry to building a more industrial version of their sideloader when Design Storage was first launched.

After 17 years in business Design Storage & Handling, Inc. has transitioned into one of the largest distributors of Hubtex equipment in the world. In 2007, Design Storage became the Master Distributor for the east coast of a new line of Rough Terrain Forklifts called the Mast Explorer. Rob also started an selling an additional line of diesel and propane powered sideloaders called Bullseye.

With Rob Alling as President, he leads a team of talented Sales Managers in territories throughout the United States and North America. Headquartered in Fredericksburg, VA – Design Storage & Handling, Inc. leads the industry in importing, selling and servicing quality machinery into North America and to its customers.
